Summer Activities

The Alps in summertime is truly one of the best kept secrets! Once the snow melts, leaving just the snow capped peaks the Alps come alive with lush green meadows, wild flowers, breathtaking scenery and blue, blue skies. The Alps offer a superb alternative to a crowded beach holiday and can be enjoyed at whatever pace you like.

For the active there is plenty of choice and variety of pastimes, whilst those looking for relaxation will find the environment delightful. The Courchevel area offers walking, climbing, golf, crazy golf, mountain biking, quad biking, swimming, horse riding, fishing, white water rafting, hydro speed, canyoning, volley ball, bowls, skating, paint ball, archery, adventure playground, trampoline, paragliding and hot air ballooning!

Accommodation

Our chalet and apartment are available throughout the summer, although most activities and facilities are generally around July and August. It is the perfect base for your holiday and is ideally located for all the regions activities.

We can be flexible with duration at either accommodation and at the chalet you can choose between bed and breakfast or a half board basis or a combination of the two, whilst the apartment is purely self-catering.

Chalet Macambuse is a large chalet, which enjoys the sun all day long; it has 2 balconies and a garden offering superb views of the surrounding mountains. All rooms have private bathrooms. Our luxury apartment can sleep 5 or 6 in 2 separate bedrooms and has a small balcony and garden.

Modern, well equipped, in a quiet residential area, town centre easily reached

Our 1st floor apartment is in a detached house just off a quiet road in the residential area of Sevrier just 5km from Annecy centre and only a short walk from the lake, beaches and cycle track.

• It offers spacious, modern and well equipped accommodation with 3 good sized bedrooms.
• The apartment has been recently renovated and totally re furnished in a modern, contemporary style.
• The lounge has very relaxing leather sofas and chair, flat screen TV and DVD player.
• The kitchen is well equipped with oven, micro, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine, kettle, toaster, etc.
• The bathroom has a full sized bath with a shower over it, double washbasins and storage.
• Spring 2012 there will be a toilet added to this bathroom, to make 2 in all.
• There is a washing machine, tumble drier, iron and ironing board, also outside hanging area.
• Parking in garage and entrance drive.
• The apartment has a balcony along the front and a large garden to the rear. You can enjoy the sunshine all day.

Annecy, often described as the Venice of the Alps offers a wonderful setting for a superb holiday whatever you choose to do or not do. It’s a great location for summer or winter holidays. There are lots of places of interest in and around Annecy from parks, churches, châteaux, museums, markets, shops and ski resorts. A 40km cycle path runs from Annecy to Albertville which is used throughout the year both by cyclists and roller bladers. Our house is situated in the delightful town of Sevrier just 5kms south of Annecy centre. It’s in a quiet, residential area but has great access to the lake and cycle path. It has its own shops, bars and restaurants as well as lots of amenities to help you enjoy your stay. Travel by car into Annecy should be about 10 minutes and 20mins by bike, or about 1 hour on foot, but its flat, easy and a beautiful walk.

Surrounding ski areas

Travel by car to the surrounding ski areas for all or part of your stay. The huge 3 valleys area is just over an hours’ drive away, from there you have 600kms of superb skiing on well maintained pistes, the height of the area and the high number of snow cannons almost guarantees you'll ski throughout the winter season; 3rd Dec until 24th April 2012. Also accessible are resorts of La Plagne or Chamonix. If you prefer a smaller resort you can reach Semnoz, La Clusaz, La Giettaz all under an hours’ drive away.
